About EACO Medical Volunteer Projects

EACO’s Medical Volunteer Projects in Mukono and Buikwe offer a valuable opportunity for global health volunteers and students, including undergraduates, graduates, and professionals in international development, public health, and medical fields. This program brings together participants from around the world to work alongside rural communities, empowering them to lead healthier lives through a range of healthcare services.

Program Overview: Volunteers will engage in a wide variety of medical and health-related activities, including:

  • Clinical Services: Gain hands-on experience in maternity, pediatrics, geriatrics, laboratory work, pharmacy, cancer screening, family planning, immunizations, deworming, general medicine, gynecology, dentistry, and HIV/AIDS care.

  • Community Outreach: Participate in weekly community outreach activities, offering a deeper understanding of the local culture, health needs, and social dynamics of the communities you will support.

  • Holistic Health Education: Address key public health issues such as water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and reproductive health, while promoting sustainable health practices.

Learning and Impact: Volunteers will live and work side by side with community members, gaining insight into the social justice and health challenges faced by these communities. This immersive experience will enable you to contribute to meaningful solutions and develop a greater understanding of global health as a multi-sectoral and interdisciplinary field.

Through this program, you will face the challenges of grassroots public health work and think critically about your role as a leader in the movement for global health equity. This is a great opportunity to make a tangible impact while growing personally and professionally in the field of global health.
