Anike Foundation Partners to Donate Books to Schoolchildren in The Gambia

In keeping with its mission to contribute to the improvement of education in Africa, Anike Foundation collaborated with its local partner in The Gambia, West Africa, Global Aid Foundation and Heart n Hands Inc., to provide books to schoolchildren. Global Aid Foundation and Heart n Hands Inc. provide humanitarian assistance to Pre-K through high school students in the form of school supplies and supplemental educational materials for teachers. Through their efforts, the organizations have reached out to and impacted more than 1,000 students.

In preparation for back-to-school season and the fall school semester, Global Aid Foundation began collecting school supplies in the summer of 2018. Recipients include students at eight different schools. The materials received from Anike Foundation, to be distributed to the various schools include National Geographic magazines, Encyclopedia Britannica, math, writing and language books, as well as various fiction titles.

Global Aid Foundation and Heart n Hands Inc. expressed their thanks to Anike Foundation, noting for the receipt of the books, “It was a joyful moment!” and “Thank you for the wonderful blessing such as these materials to get placed in the hands of students and teachers in Africa.”
