UYSTO Long-term Volunteer Projects

The long-term volunteer program takes a period of between 6 to 12 months of dedication and fulfilling voluntary service. This volunteer program is ideal for passionate individual volunteers who have enough time to offer. Program fees are $450 monthly facilitation fee and a $300 one time project donation fee.

Education

Positions are available in these areas:

  • Computer Literacy Tutors

  • Youth Talent and Sports Coaching

  • Nursery Teaching Assistants

  • Life Skills Development Trainers

  • Primary School Teaching Assistants

  • Carpentry / Tailoring / Music, Dance and Drama: Assistant Instructors and Advisors

Organizational Capacity Building

Organizational capacity building fundraisers are to work online and the funds raised are for strengthening UYSTO infrastructure and cater for other administrative concerns.

Volunteer tasks for this position:

  • Assisting in the preparation of funding proposals

  • Meeting potentials donors and working out appointments with them

  • Following up funding contacts and promises of funding

  • Carrying out and facilitating fund raising functions

  • Working out appropriate fund raising strategies

  • Transferring of the raised funds to UYSTO

Organization Administration

As a volunteer in Organization Administration, you will work closely with a local team to manage daily administrative tasks and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. This role involves meeting set targets and actively participating in a variety of key functions that support the organization’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development and Review: Assist in the creation and refinement of organizational policies to ensure they align with best practices and strategic goals.

  • Program Design: Help design and develop new organizational programs that address community needs and support the organization's objectives.

  • Facilitating Workshops and Seminars: Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and other training sessions that enhance the skills and knowledge of both staff and community members.

  • Project Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of ongoing projects to assess their progress and impact.

  • Development of Monitoring and Evaluation Tools: Create and refine tools and methodologies for effectively monitoring and evaluating the organization’s projects and programs.
